Three Faces of Chamber Music

Three Faces of Chamber Music

As part of the concert cycle “Introductions,” which successfully promotes art music and emerging talents, a concert titled Three Faces of Chamber Music will be held on the Main Stage of the National Theatre of Republika Srpska on Thursday, March 19, starting at 8 p.m.

Classical music lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy a diverse chamber music program performed by distinguished young artists. The performers include Anastasija Arsenić (violin), Sonja Saramandić (violin), Srna Majar (viola), and Stefan Lopandić (piano).

Works by renowned composers

The concert program has been carefully designed to present works by notable composers of chamber music literature that are rarely performed on local stages. The repertoire will include the Suite for violin, viola, and piano by Hans Koessler, the Serenade for two violins and viola No. 2 by Bohuslav Martinů, and the Suite for two violins and piano in G minor, Op. 71, by Moritz Moszkowski.

This musical event offers an engaging overview of different approaches to chamber music performance, highlighting the specific relationships between instruments within an ensemble. The participating musicians emphasize that these three stylistically distinct pieces reveal diverse roles of string instruments and piano.

Richness of sound

“Through these three works, we explore the different roles instruments can have within an ensemble—from harmonic unity and rhythmic interplay to open virtuosity,” the ensemble members stated, inviting the audience to witness the subtle dialogue between instruments.

The concert continues the successful practice of the National Theatre of Republika Srpska to bring the richness of chamber music closer to the audience in Banja Luka through the “Introductions” cycle, while also providing young performers with an opportunity to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and artistic maturity.
