Željko Budimir, acting Minister of Interior of Republika Srpska, stated that no one will be allowed to glorify Ustaša ideology, Nazism, or fascism, nor to insult the Serb people and their sentiments.
Budimir said that the police received an official notification today regarding a planned gathering in Modran near Derventa, where the organizer requested a visit to a cemetery, wreath-laying, a religious service, and a memorial meal.
He emphasized that authorities would under no circumstances allow any formation or assembly of units, especially those known for crimes in the Derventa area.
Speaking during a session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, in a debate on a proposed resolution concerning the ban on glorification and promotion of the ideology of the Independent State of Croatia, Budimir stressed that no one will be allowed to offend the Serb people or their feelings, and that unverified information should not be spread.
He added that it is unacceptable to trivialize the topic of genocide against the Serb people during World War II, emphasizing that such issues must be addressed with respect for expert analysis.
“As long as I am minister, I will not allow anything that implies the glorification of Ustaša ideology, Nazism, or fascism. We were the only people in Europe who fought against that scourge,” Budimir stated.
