Republika Srpska and Serbia are continuing the marking of Sretenje – Statehood Day of Serbia and Republika Srpska.
On this occasion, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, will today present decorations to deserving individuals and institutions.
In Republika Srpska, today is a non-working day in observance of Sretenje.
The central ceremony marking Sretenje was held yesterday at the monument to Voivode Karađorđe in Orašac.
Prime Minister Savo Minić stated that every person living in Republika Srpska and Serbia must know that the idea related to freedom, equality and equal rights was an idea that could only be realized by the Serb warrior and his spirit.
Sretenje represents the awakening of the national spirit and unity of the Serbs, said Prime Minister of Serbia Đuro Macut, emphasizing that love for the homeland must rise above all existing differences.
