The novel The forge of her soul by Sanja Bulatović from Podgorica was presented this evening in Zvornik.
Bulatović told SRNA that she writes by viewing the world through the soul, focusing on what is most needed today—empathy, humanity, and sincerity.
She emphasized that she did not want the book to be feminist in nature, but rather to show how a woman can simultaneously be both a victim and a fighter.
“I wove into this book everything that we lack, above all humanity, kindness, compassion, and the ability to understand others rather than judge them,” Bulatović said.
Reviewer Matija Bećković wrote that in this novel Bulatović leads readers through a whirlwind of dramatic circumstances and deep emotions, noting that the story both warms and burns, and lingers in the reader’s thoughts for a long time.
Dejan Spasojević, director of the Zvornik-based publishing house As oglas, which published the novel, said the work promotes perseverance, endurance, and humanity as values that should rise above hatred and divisions that are often dominant.
He added that the novel portrays a complex life story of one family and the people connected to it.
