As Prijedor’s streets are decorated with festive lights and ornaments, residents are deciding how they will spend New Year’s Eve. While some choose a quiet celebration at home with family, others plan to gather with friends, and local hospitality venues are already preparing special menus and entertainment programs.
“We’re planning to go to a café and celebrate New Year’s with friends. Our whole group will be there,” citizens said.
“For New Year’s, I’ll probably spend it with friends — or maybe with my parents, depending on what we arrange.”
“I don’t like staying at home; I prefer going somewhere. Maybe even to Banja Luka this year,” others added.
Restaurant and café owners say demand for New Year’s events is higher than in previous years. The offer includes private and corporate celebrations, which are especially sought after.
In addition to the hospitality sector, the city is preparing a rich open-air program. “Prijedor Winter” includes activities organized by cultural institutions — from free theatre performances and exhibitions at the Kozara Museum to children’s workshops at the City Reading Room, as well as comic-book promotions and the Christmas Cake Festival “Česnica” at the Sreten Stojanović Gallery.
“On the main square, as every year, various vendors will set up their stands, including open-air cafés with their offerings. There will also be stands at the small square with commercial items people can buy as part of the New Year’s festivities,” said Branko Mudrinić, chief of staff to the Mayor of Prijedor.
As residents choose how to celebrate the holidays, hospitality venues prepare diverse events, while the city’s outdoor programs further enhance the festive atmosphere that fills Prijedor throughout December, ATV reports.
