Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac stated that the decision of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly to appoint a chief negotiator with the EU represents a “textbook example of violating the BiH Constitution, laws, and parliamentary rules of procedure”, describing it as a “perfidious maneuver aimed at excluding the institutions of Republika Srpska from the decision-making process.”
“I recently said that the ‘Trojka’ will soon sign a political testament titled ‘How We Destroyed BiH’. Each day, they move closer to that goal,” Košarac said.
He stressed that the “Trojka”, together with what he called the “desperate opposition in Republika Srpska,” has fully embraced this destructive course.
“Schmidt’s pupils act just like their mentor — an occupier. Just as that illegitimate foreigner unilaterally, illegally, and anti-Dayton imposes his decisions, his subordinates — the so-called ‘Schmidt followers’ in the House of Representatives — are now leading this country into deeper legal anarchy,” Košarac told SRNA.
According to him, the decision on the chief negotiator “bears Schmidt’s handwriting.”
“As is Schmidt — illegal and illegitimate — so is this decision on the negotiator,” Košarac emphasized.
He added that, in their rush to fulfill Schmidt’s instructions, the “Trojka” and the opposition in Republika Srpska have ignored a fundamental procedural rule — that any issue related to EU integration requires the opinion of the Joint Committee on European Integration.
Košarac reminded that any decision of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH becomes valid only after approval by both chambers — the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples.
“Their unilateral decision on the chief negotiator only deepens the chaos in an already chaotic system. It is unconstitutional, illegal, and deliberately designed to remove Republika Srpska’s institutions from the decision-making process, diminish Srpska’s visibility in EU integration, and override the democratic will of the Serb people,” Košarac warned.
He concluded that it is paradoxical that those who most loudly proclaim loyalty to BiH institutions are, in fact, their greatest destroyers.
“Schmidt’s subordinates are the ultimate gravediggers of what remains of the anti-Dayton Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Košarac said.
