“The next step is proceedings before the European Court, which has full jurisdiction and, we hope, will accept our appeal,” said Goran Bubić, lawyer for President Milorad Dodik.
“The deadline for filing the appeal is quite long, but we will submit it much earlier,” Bubić stated.
He emphasized that the decision of the incomplete Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina did not come as a surprise.
“We have long said that we cannot expect much from the Constitutional Court of BiH — and that is exactly what happened. Legal colleagues from the Federation call the Constitutional Court of BiH a ‘project,’ not a court. We saw in their statement that they speak about the high representative, not about the Constitution,” Bubić noted.
He questioned where, in fact, the high representative is mentioned in the Constitution.
“Where is that article? Where is that provision? It doesn’t exist. They seem to have forgotten that their duty is to defend the Constitution, not an individual who came here — and we all know how,” Bubić added.
