Dodik on the UN Security Council session: Trump delivers on his words

U.S. President Donald Trump delivers on what he says, while Republika Srpska is grateful to Russia and China for their consistent positions, said President Milorad Dodik, commenting on the UN Security Council session on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Dodik emphasized that there has been a change in the global order of priorities.

“Trump’s administration is engaged in a historic battle against the globalist approach that has been destroying nations, states, and identities. The U.S. representative reiterated Trump’s words: ‘We will no longer engage in nation-building. We want peace and for domestic actors to resolve their own issues. The United States will no longer intervene in other countries.’ That is exactly what we wanted to hear. It shows that Trump is delivering on his promises,” Dodik stated.

He noted that Russia and China remained consistent in their positions, while other countries were more moderate than before.

“The representatives of Serbia and Croatia also spoke excellently. This was a great opportunity to see just how dysfunctional Bosnia and Herzegovina has become,” Dodik added.

He also commented on the address by BiH Presidency Chairman Željko Komšić.

“BiH’s foreign policy is being represented by Komšić saying, ‘I think!’ — who cares what he thinks? The Presidency determines foreign policy, and it did not decide what would be said in New York. He deceived the UN Security Council and the entire world. But in fact, it works in our favor — it clearly shows how they are undermining one of the key elements of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s representation abroad. Komšić did that brilliantly tonight,” said Dodik.

The president added that dialogue within Bosnia and Herzegovina remains possible.

“I will propose to Željka Cvijanović to invite political parties from across BiH to a meeting in Banja Luka to start a dialogue. If they refuse, fine. But if you want to have a common foreign policy, then bring it back within the constitutional framework — otherwise, we will continue to have a situation where they are deceiving the entire world,” Dodik concluded.
