President Milorad Dodik said he does not expect any substantive resolution to be adopted at the upcoming UN Security Council session, as has been the case in previous years, but that he does anticipate a different atmosphere than before.
He believes the support for the Altea mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina will not be jeopardized.
“Our Russian friends will not cast a veto, because we assessed that this should be granted, but I think there will be discussions about postponing it — saying it can be extended for another year or two,” Dodik said.
Dodik added that fears of a threat to peace were sown by Muslims and by politicians Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić.
“They think these international forces will fight for them. They are total political idiots,” Dodik said.
He recalled a recent statement by Christian Schmidt that he visited Sarajevo in 1991 as an observer at a referendum which Serbs boycotted, and that Schmidt claimed everything was fine.
“And now that Serbs would respect such people — that is truly neither fair nor humane, nor logical. We will pursue him politically and legally; we will try to sue him in Germany — he will not remain at peace for the rest of his life. He will face courts, prosecutors will pursue him,” Dodik told Euronews.
Dodik expressed hope that warrants could eventually be issued for Schmidt in some countries.
