Đokić: Republika Srpska gains significance by participating in a prestigious energy forum in Moscow

Minister of Energy and Mining of Republika Srpska Petar Đokić stated that Republika Srpska is gaining in importance through its participation in the prestigious International Conference “Russian Energy Week” in Moscow and that it can learn a great deal from Russian experience in the energy sector.

Đokić noted that one of the participants was Russian President Vladimir Putin, who emphasized the growing global demand for all types of energy resources and the need to find a balance between the interests of producing and consuming countries through fair trade relations.

“Particular attention was devoted to trade barriers, protectionist security measures, and ways to safeguard national interests. The principle of respecting the sovereignty of all states was clearly highlighted in the remarks of many participants,” Đokić told SRNA.

He added that Russia is actively preparing to expand its influence in other markets and is focusing on developing partnerships aimed at making the world a better place to live.

“That’s why it is extremely valuable to attend such an event — to hear key insights, establish contacts with representatives of the global energy community, and form a clearer picture of what we can do. The key lies in relying on knowledge, maintaining international cooperation, and recognizing the growing impact of artificial intelligence on the overall energy landscape — which presents both a challenge and an opportunity,” Đokić said.

The Russian Energy Week International Conference, which continues until tomorrow, gathers over 5,000 delegates from 84 countries and territories.
The main theme of this year’s event is “The New Reality of Global Energy: Building the Future.”
