Gacko and Borac volleyball teams open the playoff finals

The volleyball players of Gacko will host Borac on Saturday at 6 PM in the first match of the playoff finals of the Bosnia and Herzegovina championship. Saša Slijepčević’s team is defending the title, while the “red-blue” side has reached their first-ever final in the club’s six-year history. These two teams have already faced off in the finals of both the Republika Srpska Cup and the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup—Gacko emerged victorious on both occasions. The home team is once again the favorite, with Ivana Radović being the key player in their title defense.

“Borac is a very tenacious and dedicated team. They showed that against Banjaluka Volley, and throughout the entire season. Despite being newcomers to the Premier League, they’ve reached the playoff finals. I think we know each other well enough by now that no one can really surprise the other. We’ll do our best, as we have all season, to get two wins and secure the last trophy of the year. I invite the fans to support us in this final push for the title,” said Radović.

Borac, on the other hand, says they are ready for the big final, even though the team was worn down by the tough semifinal against city rivals Banjaluka Volley.

“We’re once again facing Gacko in a final. This is a huge success for our club. Gacko is currently the top team in the country and clear favorites, but we’re not here by accident. I expect a high-quality match, plenty of great points from both sides, and an excellent atmosphere—which the fans in Gacko always deliver. May the better team win,” said Borac’s opposite hitter, Sonja Vujnić.
