“Days of Russian Spiritual Culture”: Concert of the Sretensky Monastery Choir from Moscow opens the festival in Banja Luka

The world-renowned Sretensky Monastery Choir from Moscow opened the “Days of Russian Spiritual Culture in Republika Srpska” festival with a magnificent performance at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Banja Luka.

The event aims to strengthen the spiritual and cultural ties between the Russian and Serb peoples, showcasing traditional heritage and promoting deeper cultural and political cooperation between the two nations.

The Sretensky Monastery Choir, one of the most prominent representatives of Russian culture, performs spiritual music, traditional Russian folk and wartime songs, and classic romances. Since 2005, it has been the main choir accompanying liturgical services of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, and is remembered worldwide for its performance at the opening ceremony of the Sochi Winter Olympics.

As part of the three-day manifestation, audiences will also have the opportunity to visit the exhibition “Kizhi – Revitalized Masterpiece of Russia”, dedicated to the 18th-century wooden church, and enjoy a classical concert by the Valentin Berlinsky String Trio from Moscow.

The festival serves as a powerful platform for promoting Russian culture and its centuries-old spiritual heritage, organized in cooperation between the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska.
