New vehicles in BiH are more often purchased by citizens, but legal entities are not far behind, according to an analysis by the portal InfoBijeljina.com.
When it comes to newly registered vehicles by ownership type in July 2025, the ratio was 56.9 percent (individuals) to 43.1 percent (legal entities).
Among new vehicles registered in BiH in July, petrol cars were the most common (58.6 percent), followed by diesel-powered vehicles (25.7 percent).
In terms of newly registered motor vehicles, passenger cars accounted for the largest share (46.4 percent).
According to the Agency for Statistics of BiH, in July 2025 a total of 12,618 motor vehicles (new and used) were registered for the first time.
“This represents an increase of 10.9 percent in the number of newly registered motor vehicles in Bosnia and Herzegovina compared to the same month of the previous year,” the Agency for Statistics of BiH stated.
Of the total number of newly registered vehicles, passenger cars were the most represented (74.3 percent), followed by motorcycles (6.1 percent), trucks (5.9 percent), mopeds (3.4 percent), while buses had the smallest share (0.2 percent).
