Minister of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers, Srđan Amidžić, once again spoke out regarding the direct financial and political blow to Republika Srpska, after his deputy, Muhamed Hasanović, signed a decision without the consent of Serb representatives, withholding 148 million KM from Republika Srpska while simultaneously transferring 120 million KM to the Federation of BiH.
“With one Bosniak’s signature, 148 million KM was taken from the citizens of Republika Srpska. This is not a mistake – it is a political message. And a very clear one,” warned Amidžić.
He claimed that Hasanović’s signature came with the support of what he described as the illegitimate actions of the OHR, which enabled decisions to be made without the consent of Republika Srpska, viewing it as a continuation of the trend of BiH’s unitarization.
“First they prosecute Serb leaders, then they try to strip the Serb president of his mandate, and now they are spending Serb money. This is a plan, not an incident,” said Amidžić.
In his address, Amidžić pointed out the concrete consequences of this financial strike, stressing that 148 million KM is not just a number but real resources that could have been invested in the development of Srpska.
“Six kilometers of highway and dozens of kilometers of local roads. Fifty new kindergartens and security systems for over 1,000 schools and preschools. Complete renovation of all theaters, museums, and libraries in Republika Srpska. These are kindergartens. Schools. Apartments for young people. Asphalt leading to health clinics. Safety for your child. And all of that was taken away – with one Bosniak’s signature. Citizens of Republika Srpska, this is robbery,” said Amidžić.
He particularly criticized the silence of the opposition.
“While millions are being stolen from Republika Srpska – the silence of the opposition today echoes louder than ever. I call on them to stop remaining silent.”
Amidžić appealed for political unity.
“It is time to wake up and respond together in the interest of our people. Because decisions about Republika Srpska’s money should be made by Republika Srpska. If we are not united and determined today in Sarajevo – tomorrow we will have nothing left to defend,” emphasized Amidžić.
