Former diplomat Branko Branković told Srna that the announced referendum in Republika Srpska on the decisions of the BiH Court and the self-proclaimed high representative in BiH demonstrates the determination of Srpska’s leadership to fight like a lion for the full implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement.
Branković believes that in the latest crisis in BiH, the most important thing is that Republika Srpska continues to firmly defend the position that the Dayton Peace Agreement must be implemented in its entirety.
“The essence is to insist that Dayton must not and cannot be violated, because if that is allowed, it will lead to chaos in BiH,” Branković said.
He emphasized that Republika Srpska does not allow the Dayton Agreement to be dismantled and is right to raise serious questions about the legality of everything being decided in Sarajevo, especially since it is done at the initiative of a self-proclaimed high representative who sits in Sarajevo without any authority, as he has not been accepted by the UN Security Council.
Commenting on the current situation in BiH, Branković said that a broader perspective must be taken, because in everything happening in Europe, the relations between Russia and the United States in resolving the issue of Ukraine must be kept in mind.
He stressed that some European countries, consumed with anger and dissatisfaction because no one asks them anything, are trying in various ways “to prove that they matter.”
“All those who are doing this are now trying to create chaos in BiH. Unfortunately, they neither ask, nor understand the Serbs, Croats, or Muslims,” Branković said.
He emphasized that the peoples of BiH are fed up with war, conflicts, and suffering.
“However, this ‘never mind’ attitude from certain circles in Europe, which seek political shelters for themselves, does not care about that at all. That is why I think the most important thing is that all peoples in BiH must not allow this so-called boss, the German /Christian Schmidt/, to command the parade,” Branković pointed out.
