Kojić: Republika Srpska will respond institutionally to the CEC decision

Republika Srpska will issue an institutional response to the decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH to terminate the mandate of President Milorad Dodik, said SNSD MP in the BiH House of Representatives Milorad Kojić in a statement to SRNA.

Kojić noted that the CEC is now particularly “efficient and ready to act” in serving the interests of parts of the international community with a clear goal: to remove Dodik as president of Republika Srpska.

“The CEC acted quickly, as part of a synchronized political process, and launched the procedure to strip the president of his mandate,” said Kojić.

He recalled the decisions of the SNSD Main Board, as well as statements from coalition partners and the president of Republika Srpska himself, that there would be a clear institutional response to this attempt to override the will of the citizens.

Kojić emphasized that Republika Srpska always responds through institutions, unlike judicial bodies which, according to him, undermine the constitutional order under the influence of Bosniak politics and the international community.

The BiH CEC issued today’s decision following the ruling of the Appellate Division of the BiH Court, which upheld the first-instance verdict sentencing President Dodik to one year in prison and banning him from political activity for six years, due to “disrespecting the decisions of Christian Schmidt.”

An appeal against the CEC decision is permitted.
