Whenever Bosnia and Herzegovina sets out on a normal path, one of work and development, some foreign actor always intervenes to stir tensions within BiH itself. Time and again, certain BiH institutions—such as the Court of BiH—are used to target the legal and legitimate representatives of one people, said Republika Srpska Prime Minister Radovan Višković.
“This is unacceptable and, to reasonable people around the world, inexplicable—that the Prosecutor’s Office and the Court of BiH are enforcing decisions of an illegal, so-called high representative who behaves like a colonial emperor, not a high representative,” Višković stated.
“Is it possible that in the 21st century, in BiH, we have a foreign administrator who changes laws through his decisions and thereby nullifies the legitimacy of institutions such as parliaments at all levels?” Višković asked.
He pointed out that, everywhere in the world, parliaments are the institutions that adopt and amend legal acts.
“There is no example anywhere in the world like this one in BiH, nor behavior like that of the so-called high representative,” Višković said.
He stated that what is happening clearly reveals an intention to strike at the Serb people and Republika Srpska.
“Thirty years after Dayton, there are still attempts to abolish the institutions of Republika Srpska, using the judiciary of BiH, unfortunately, as a tool to attack the legitimately elected representatives of Republika Srpska. The targeting and banning of political activity of the president of Republika Srpska is a direct blow to the Constitution of Republika Srpska and the Constitution of BiH. We must ask: who benefits from provoking a constitutional and political crisis in BiH? Certainly not the people who live here. We are all suffering enormous harm,” Višković emphasized.
Višković concluded by stating that Republika Srpska and its institutions will do everything to protect their constitutional and Dayton position.
