Mazalica: Verdict against the Republika Srpska president riddled with procedural errors; the case must go to Strasbourg

Srđan Mazalica, head of the SNSD caucus in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, stated that the Court of BiH’s verdict against Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik is full of procedural flaws and legal violations, and that “the matter must be taken to Strasbourg.”

“Regardless of Schmidt’s legitimacy or his supposed right to enact laws, the verdict against Dodik contains numerous procedural errors and breaches of the BiH Criminal Procedure Code,” Mazalica emphasized.

He added that “the deep state in Sarajevo has clearly decided to escalate the crisis further.”

“The case must be taken to Strasbourg. More and more Europeans see this trial as a disgrace to the judiciary,” Mazalica wrote on the social media platform X.

The Appellate Division of the Court of BiH confirmed the first-instance verdict sentencing President Dodik to one year in prison and a six-year ban from political activity, due to his alleged “disrespect” of decisions issued by Christian Schmidt.
