The President of the Narodna Partija Srpske (People’s Party of Srpska), Darko Banjac, stated for SRNA that the tourist Christian Schmidt is attempting to financially destabilize Republika Srpska, without realizing that in doing so, he is destroying his dream creation—the state union of BiH.
“The German tourist and admirer of Nazi leaders came to BiH to tour a country where the Nazis were defeated by a freedom-loving people. When he realized the truth about this people’s fight for freedom, he refused to pay the tourist tax—instead, he decided to charge for his stay. All of this would be laughable if it weren’t so true and sad,” Banjac said.
He noted that the German Christian Schmidt, known among the people as the most famous tourist in BiH, made a decision in front of the very same, now familiar EU, that he has no right to make—grossly violating the Constitution of the state union of BiH, the Dayton Peace Agreement, and the basic principles of international law.
“He decided to allocate money that does not belong to him or his people, but to this unfortunate BiH and proud Republika Srpska. In an attempt to provoke a financial crisis—since provoking a political one failed—Mr. Tourist clearly did so with the intent of charging for his stay in BiH. Instead of using his substantial salary to help repay the debt, he chose to do the opposite. Because, according to him, it is perfectly normal for money to be transferred to an account in the Canary Islands—probably reminiscing about not-so-distant times,” Banjac said, responding to Christian Schmidt’s imposed decision to allocate excise tax funds belonging to Republika Srpska for payment to the Slovenian company “Viadukt.”
He emphasized that a single man, without any explanation or legal grounds, bypassing all regulations, violating both the BiH Constitution and international law, is distributing the money of another people and a country in which he is merely a tourist.
“Even Adi didn’t do that. Poor Europe with its field marshals and other generals. But I am surprised that France remains silent. Brigitte, help us…” Banjac added.
