Kojić: Report by the Potočari Memorial Center is another attack on the truth

The President of the Organization of Families of Captured and Fallen Fighters and Missing Civilians of Srebrenica, Branimir Kojić, stated that the new report on genocide denial published by the Potočari Memorial Center is a continuation of pressure on all free-minded people who dare to speak the truth.

“They cobbled this report together from bits and pieces—figures like Dragan Bursać and Edin Ikanović—all under the orders of Emir Suljagić. Suljagić even reported me to the police because I said that his father was killed during an attack on a Serb village long before 1995 and was buried as a victim of some so-called genocide,” Kojić told Glas Srpske.

Kojić noted that what bothers them is that he questions how someone who was on the offensive can be considered a victim, while Serbs are accused of being genocidal.

“My father died defending his ancestral home, his mother and father, and yet he and his fellow countrymen are being labeled as genocidal, as savages, and much worse… It bothers those so-called ‘experts’ that I continuously speak about how the international community views our victims as second-class, and it bothers them that I call for the construction of a memorial complex in Bratunac—because that would finally reveal the scale of our suffering. It would directly affect the narrative about the alleged genocide, since someone would inevitably ask, ‘Who killed all these Serbs?’ Ikanović focuses special attention in this report on me as a representative of Serb victims because I disrupt their lies and manipulations aimed at the entire world. What especially bothers them is that I expose the role of the Memorial Center and speak the truth about everything,” Kojić emphasized.

He added that he is proud to be on the same side as great experts like William Schabas, Yehuda Bauer, and Efraim Zuroff.

Sharing the same view as Noam Chomsky, Kojić noted, is proof that he is on the right side of truth—and that truth is his guiding star. He emphasized that it is the sacred mission of every Serb to speak about the crimes committed against the Serb people.

“I am not one of those who will be intimidated or one of those who long ago bowed their heads to the false narrative, betraying their own people for personal comfort—only to now beat their chests and preach the narrative I have defended, even though they were never mentioned in any such reports. The fact is, I am also the only one on that list who is not politically active—and we all know why that is: the sole purpose is to bring an indictment against me, which would essentially mean an indictment against the 3,267 murdered Serbs whose images I posted so the whole world can see them and understand that we are the ones who suffered in this region,” Kojić stressed.

Kojić made it clear that such reports and this kind of pressure will not scare him and that he will continue to speak as long as he breathes—because he has the right to do so. He wants to testify to the world about the suffering of the Serb people because he still feels the pain of what his family and the broader Serb population—mostly civilians—went through, often in the most brutal ways imaginable.

“I call on all Serbs around the world to begin speaking publicly, because if we remain silent, what Inzko and other manipulators intended will come to pass—rewriting history. And history is the teacher of life. We have a duty to pass the truth on to our children and teach them everything we went through for the sake of a better future,” Kojić concluded.
