After Judge Sena Uzunović filed a criminal complaint against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, accusing him of making false claims that her relative had requested money in exchange for an acquittal, Dodik reiterated his position that certain favors were requested from him by people close to Uzunović, and questioned her professional integrity.
Dodik stated that Uzunović was only asked to act in accordance with the Constitution and the law, which she failed to do, thereby undermining the constitutional order.
In an interview for the RTRS program Telering, Dodik described in detail the alleged involvement of Judge Uzunović in the case.
“She chose to do this. But what kind of lawyer and legal expert is she? Now she walks around Sarajevo saying she had to do it, that she was under pressure. That’s proof they’re acting under pressure. They pretend to be independent, but they’re not,” Dodik said.
He added that the entire matter would be of interest to the public.
“From the coded messages onward. When she agreed to something, she should have made that clear using legal terminology. Until now she referred to ‘the accused’ and ‘the lawyers’, but now, to confirm what she agreed to, she used the word ‘advokat’ [attorney], which signals that she stands behind it. If Sena really wants to go all the way with this, we will go all the way. Let’s be clear—this is not some special story, but a favor was requested and granted, and her relatives benefited from it. Her son made certain requests,” Dodik claimed.
He stated that Uzunović’s ultimate goal was to “go after the president’s family.”
“She wanted to imprison me just because we don’t share the same views. Nothing was demanded from her, only that she respect the Constitution and the law. Whatever happens, this will end up at the European Court of Human Rights. I must protect my rights. That’s how we’ll also explain that Sena Uzunović is a tool of Murphy’s political agenda,” said Dodik.
