At the recently concluded 44th Theatre Games of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Jajce—the oldest theatre festival in the country—the audience jury awarded “The Singing and Silence of Sofka Nikolić” by Milivoje Mlađenović, directed by Sonja Petrović, the title of Best Performance of the Festival.
In addition to this prestigious audience award, the expert jury granted three more recognitions to the Bijeljina-based City Theatre “Semberija.” Composer Nenad Kojić was awarded for music and sound design, Jovana Rakić received the award for stage movement and choreography, and Bojana Milanović earned yet another acting award for her leading role as Sofka.
What makes these awards even more meaningful is the fact that “Sofka” was performed alongside productions from some of the most prominent institutions, including: Kamerni Teatar 55, the National Theatre Sarajevo, the National Theatre of Republika Srpska (Banja Luka), Bosnian National Theatre Zenica, National Theatre Tuzla, National Theatre Mostar, and the Croatian National Theatre Mostar.
