Due to the increasing influx of migrants from the Middle East and North Africa into the Western Balkans and the territory of the European Union, the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued a statement.
They warned that terrorism does not require an invitation—only an open passage.
“Mass migration enables violent extremists to exploit systemic weaknesses. If Europe wants to prevent the next attack, it must protect its borders and stop terrorists from crossing them freely,” the US Embassy stated.
One of the key items on the agenda of the 15th regular session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, which is currently underway, is the proposal of a declaration rejecting the initiatives of the Government of the United Kingdom, the EU, and its member states to establish migrant centers on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and opposing any forced resettlement of migrants in Republika Srpska.
The declaration was submitted to the parliamentary procedure by the President of Republika Srpska, who, during his introductory remarks, outlined the security risks of potentially settling migrants from the United Kingdom and the European Union in Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
