Cvijanović: Bosniak officials have now contaminated even the city of Dayton

The Serb member and Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, stated that Bosniak officials have now contaminated the city of Dayton, just as they have for years been contaminating the Dayton Agreement itself.

When asked by SRNA to comment on the fact that Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović used every meeting with officials in Dayton to attack Republika Srpska and its representatives, Cvijanović responded that the differences among us from BiH are obvious, and that Bosniak officials continue to cast accusations against Srpska.

“But that no longer produces the effect they’re used to, because U.S. officials are now talking about the need to preserve peace, saying they are willing to listen, but are no longer interested in imposing solutions. Their foreign policy is primarily focused on economic cooperation,” Cvijanović emphasized.

She added, however, that there are still remnants of the old administration who continue to promote a failed narrative of sanctions, eliminating dissenters, applying pressure, and interfering in the internal affairs of BiH and other countries.

“They are, however, a minority and clearly haven’t heard the words of U.S. Vice President JD Vance, who said that there’s a new sheriff in town—that town being Washington. We in Republika Srpska understood that perfectly, and we want good cooperation with the United States that will benefit everyone in BiH, without favoring some while punishing others. Fabricated stories about secession, Russian influence, the need for others to make decisions on our behalf, or the legitimacy of foreign dictates by unelected officials are not topics of interest for this U.S. administration. They’ve clearly stated that the world is changing, so I believe it would be wise for everyone in BiH to start thinking responsibly about that, so this doesn’t remain a place of missed opportunities,” Cvijanović concluded.
