Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Marko Đurić, stated that Serbia, as a guarantor of the Dayton Peace Agreement, supports the territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also seeks the preservation of the constitutional rights of Republika Srpska as guaranteed by the Dayton Agreement.
“Unfortunately, we are witnessing a revision of Dayton—not through democratic consensus or dialogue, but through the imposition of decisions and attempts at forced centralization of BiH. We believe this is not the way forward,” Đurić said.
He emphasized that Serbia believes in dialogue among equals within BiH.
“Every attempt at centralization of BiH is not only legally questionable, but also destabilizing. BiH is not a monoethnic country, and the only path forward is through respecting its structure and the autonomy of its constituent peoples. Anything else is a risk to the peace brought by the Dayton Agreement,” Đurić stated.
More than 1,000 participants, including many former and current diplomats, attended the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement, held in Dayton, Ohio.
