As part of the celebration of 120 years of existence of Prosvjeta in Brčko and 30 years since the founding of the Serb Literary Circle, the sculpture exhibition “Small formats” was opened in Brčko. The author of the exhibition is sculptor Duško Kašterović, a long-time member of Prosvjeta.
More than twenty works by sculptor Duško Kašterović are displayed in the “Sava Šumanović” gallery.
The sculptures are made in various techniques and materials—from clay to plaster—with distinct stylistic differences that demonstrate the breadth of the artist’s expression.
“This is about the transformation of an idea through different materials. All the sculptures exhibited are made using one of two techniques, primarily the modeling method, where we start from zero and add form, thereby realizing our idea,” explained Kašterović.
Sculpture, as an artistic expression, requires time, dedication, and technical conditions, and is therefore rarely featured in gallery spaces.
Kašterović has held two solo exhibitions so far, participated in numerous group shows, and presented his works at an exhibition in Florence.
“I would also like to announce another activity—within the celebration of the Serb Literary Circle, we are preparing a special collection featuring 69 authors: Serb poets and creators from the Brčko region,” said Savo Teodorović, vice president of SPKD “Prosvjeta” Brčko.
The commemoration of Prosvjeta’s significant anniversary will continue with a ceremonial academy on May 20.
Literary evenings, book promotions, and music programs dedicated to Serb cultural heritage are also planned.
