Karate Club “Sinđelić” wins Memorial Tournament “Rajko and Mladen Crnobrnja”

Karate Club “Sinđelić” from Banja Luka was the winner of the 15th Memorial Karate Tournament “Rajko and Mladen Crnobrnja”, held in Novi Grad. The tournament gathered 400 competitors from Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH.

Karate athletes showcased their skills across various disciplines, with many of them having previously competed in numerous national and international tournaments.

“I won third place at the Balkan Championship, national medals, and several others from various competitions,” said Mladen Zorić from Karate Club “Fenix” Bosanska Krupa.

Dalid Tatarević from the same club emphasized that he had already won a gold medal.
“I somehow managed to get here, but it was tough,” he noted.

Judges and club representatives expressed satisfaction with the organization and the level of competition.

“We have around 400 competitors participating in fifty different disciplines. Karate Club ‘Rajko and Mladen Crnobrnja’ has, for years, been the backbone of the Republika Srpska national team in various age categories,” said Srđan Šakić, chief karate judge.

Marinko Gvozden, coach of Karate Club “Knežpolje” from Kozarska Dubica, mentioned that his club participated with four athletes.
“We’ve already secured one bronze medal, and we have three more competitors yet to perform,” he added.

The memorial tournament in Novi Grad is dedicated to the tragically deceased karatekas Mladen and Rajko Crnobrnja, who lost their lives in September 1995.

“We are the keepers of the memory of two great men—Mladen and Rajko. We do everything to ensure that today’s children are happier, that the competitors leave our town feeling fulfilled, and that they win as many medals as possible,” said Milan Jovanić, president of Karate Club “Rajko and Mladen Crnobrnja.”

The most successful competitors of the tournament were Sara Kovačević, member of Karate Club “Rajko and Mladen Crnobrnja,” and Aris Beganović, member of Karate Club “Regeneracija” from Velika Kladuša.
