Being a Serb anywhere throughout history has never been easy, but it is dignified, stated Milorad Dodik, President of Republika Srpska, at the 21st Conference of Serb National Organizations from the region.
“We are a people of character, a people who refuse to submit. We reject the label ‘Bosnian Serbs’—we must emphasize that we are members of the Serb nation, and they can keep their territorial prefixes for themselves,” Dodik declared.

He added that the complex attitudes toward Serbs have not ended and could always escalate again.
“We have endured the difficult era of globalization, which is still ongoing. Serbs should interpret the new messages coming from America as a form of relief. Here in Republika Srpska, we are forced to fight for what was long ago established. We’ve come to a moment where it will be determined whether Republika Srpska will continue to exist or not—but as far as we are concerned, this is merely a question of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s survival,” said Dodik.
