Mariani: Support for the president of Srpska in his stance that it is time to ask the people what they want

French Member of the European Parliament Thierry Mariani stated that he supports the president of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, when he says that it is time to ask the people what they want.

— This part of Europe is not a colony; in this part of Europe, the people must be respected. Thirty years after the Dayton Agreement, someone needs to ask them what they want — said Mariani.

He recalled that a referendum was held in Montenegro and asked why one could not also be held in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

— Perhaps some people want independence, perhaps they want to join another country — Mariani noted.

He said that during his recent visit to Banja Luka, he conveyed greetings to the president of Srpska from Marine Le Pen, leader of the National Rally.

— Dodik is a democratically elected president. The time when some Goliath hands out arrest warrants to elected leaders is over — Mariani told RT Balkan.

He pointed out that the EU applies double standards and is very harsh toward the Serb people.

— I have visited Serbia many times; I saw what we did in Kosovo. We say that we must uphold values, but those values are not the same when I speak with Albin Kurti, with Dodik, or with Aleksandar Vučić — said Mariani.

He emphasized that today it is increasingly difficult to be a Christian in Europe.

Mariani noted that Brussels uses every opportunity to assert power when a crisis arises.

He assessed that it is the dream of every technocrat to wage war, which is why Europe’s position is to support Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky to fight until the last living Ukrainian.

Mariani said that the EU has lost a great deal of money due to the conflict in Ukraine and that new countries entering the EU will be disappointed, as they will face only Brussels’ diktat and decreasing financial assistance.

Speaking about the trial of Marine Le Pen in France, Mariani described its outcome as a kind of political death sentence.

— She is not allowed to run in the upcoming elections until her appeal is resolved, and in France, the response to an appeal can take up to three years. That means the judge has delivered a political ruling — said Mariani.

He believes that the decision on the appeal may be made, but only after the presidential elections — which will be too late.
