Poetry collection “Sanska Poetic Reader” published

The poetry collection Sanska Poetic Reader has been published by the Vaso Pelagić Literary Community, edited by Ranko Preradović.

The selection of deceased poets and their works was made by the chief editor, Ranko Preradović, while the remaining poets independently chose seven poems each to be included in the collection.

The idea for publishing this book on Sanski literary creators originated from Milan Radulović and was enthusiastically embraced by Preradović, especially since there had been a long-standing need for such a work. Notably, Preradović carefully chose the title Sanska Poetic Reader, which encapsulates the essence of the collection—rich, diverse, instructive, yet uniquely structured for readers.

As an editor, Preradović selected thirty poets from Sanski Most, ensuring that those included deserved recognition through their literary contributions and artistic legacy. This book serves as a document of a time, people, experiences, memories, and creativity.

  • Sanska Poetic Reader is not merely a “Sanski” collection, nor just a “reader”; it is a mosaic interwoven with love, patriotism, and devotion, a work that fuels the hearts and souls of readers with its eternal flame – wrote poet Drago Vrućinić in the book’s foreword.

This well-known literary figure, who dedicated his life to the written word, emphasized that the collection contains finely crafted poems filled with warmth, making it seem as though they are competing to be the most beautiful.

  • These poems are masterfully polished, rich with warmth, memories, and lessons. One gets the impression that they are in a race to be the most beautiful, most heartfelt, and most meaningful. Together, they form a splendid folklore of beauty, one that not only Sanski poets but all Sanjani can be proud of – Vrućinić added.

A tribute to Sanski poets

Editor Ranko Preradović stressed that this collection was not created to assess literary value but rather, with the help of colleagues Drago Vrućinić and Mihajlo Orlović, to provide a meaningful overview of poets originating from Sanski Most.

  • This is not, God forbid, an anthology or a book of literary evaluation, but rather a panorama covering the work of about thirty Sanski poets. It should be viewed and accepted in that light. This effort is in honor of Radulović and as a tribute to all the Sanski poets who are no longer among us, yet whose works live on in the pages of Sanska Poetic Reader – said Preradović.

In summary, Sanska Poetic Reader is a thematically and stylistically refined and compositionally cohesive work. Spanning 155 pages, it presents a high-quality and creative selection of poetry linked to the geography of Sanski Most and its surroundings.
