Dodik: The current crisis in BiH was neither caused nor chosen by us

President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated on X that the U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s statement has been taken into account and seriously considered.

“It appears that the State Department is still engaged in state-building and nation-building efforts,” Dodik noted.

He questioned how such an approach aligns with the anti-globalist policy and the “America First” principle advocated by President Donald Trump.

Dodik emphasized that the current crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina was neither initiated nor chosen by Republika Srpska.

“If we accept that a German bureaucrat and a handful of ambassadors can change international law, our Constitution, and our legal system, then we accept the end of the Dayton Agreement and the end of Republika Srpska. On our part, we will continue to fight for both,” Dodik asserted.

He reiterated his persistent calls for discussions on a peaceful agreement that would ease tensions and resolve the current crisis. However, he stressed that such a resolution must be based on a return to the rule of law, an end to the militarization of the judiciary and joint institutions of BiH, and the swift cessation of foreign interference in internal affairs.

“Once again, I clearly state that Republika Srpska and I personally are committed to a peaceful and negotiated resolution of the current crisis, which was provoked by Christian Schmidt,” Dodik concluded.
