The Serb member and Chair of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, told Srna that the statement from the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo clearly shows that everyone is distancing themselves from Christian Schmidt.
“The fact is that he has led Bosnia and Herzegovina into a perilous adventure, and shifting the burden onto the judiciary to resolve his political blunders is counterproductive for Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Cvijanović stated, responding to the U.S. Embassy’s statement in Sarajevo, in which they urged Srpska’s leadership to refrain from what they described as inflammatory rhetoric.
Cvijanović emphasized that this approach contradicts the stance of the new U.S. administration, which has made it clear that the politicization of the judiciary is unacceptable.
“It seems that the U.S. Embassy ignored this fact in its statement. I would say that Sarajevo politicians have no reason to celebrate,” Cvijanović concluded.
