The Serb member and chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, stated that Zukan Helez is once again trying to privatize BiH institutions, directly undermining the country.
When asked by Srna to comment on Helez’s claim that the public statements of Hungary’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Levente Magyar, confirm that he was right to ban the landing of a Hungarian military plane, Cvijanović responded that Helez had done the same when he prohibited the landing of a plane from Serbia. She added that his hostility is further evidenced by the fact that he even blocked the arrival of firefighting helicopters from Serbia simply because of their origin.
“Helez first quarreled with Serbs and Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, then with neighboring countries, and now he wants to create conflict between BiH and friendly Hungary. It is clear that Helez and others in Sarajevo are bothered by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán simply because he supports President Donald Trump and his efforts to establish peace in Europe,” Cvijanović emphasized.
She pointed out that Helez and other officials from Sarajevo continuously attack representatives of Republika Srpska who advocate for peace, and now they are even targeting those working to achieve peace in Europe and the world.
“Hungary and its officials are promoters of peace, unlike radicalized Bosniak politicians who threaten war. Republika Srpska stands on the side of peace and fully supports Hungary’s efforts in achieving stability,” Cvijanović concluded.
