Ružičić: The future of BiH is in the hands of the Court of BiH

The mayor of the Jezero municipality, Snežana Ružičić, stated that the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina is in the hands of the Court of BiH.

Ružičić said that the political situation will be far from favorable if a judicial precedent is set and a guilty verdict is issued against the president of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, noting that such a decision would send a clear message to all Serbs in the country that the Dayton Agreement is no longer in effect.

“This is about the president as an institution and the representative of Republika Srpska, who was elected by the majority of votes from the people. This means that this trial is not just against him, but against all of us in Srpska,” said Ružičić.

She expressed her belief that the Court’s verdict would ultimately be an acquittal for the president of Republika Srpska.

“I attended part of the trial and heard that the defense once again presented well-argued facts to counter everything that the Prosecution stated in its indictment against the president of Republika Srpska,” Ružičić stated.

She added that tonight they would be holding a meeting with Prime Minister Radovan Višković, representatives, and ministers in the government of Republika Srpska, and she believes that everyone will stand united in Srpska’s defense.

Ružičić emphasized that all mayors and municipal leaders, regardless of political affiliation, are aware of how much this situation undermines the Constitution of Srpska, the autonomy of local governments, and how it ultimately represents an attack on Republika Srpska itself.

“This is not a time to divide into ruling and opposition factions,” she added.

Ružičić also stated that she is surprised by some opposition colleagues who are taking positions contrary to the defense of Republika Srpska, and she expressed hope that everyone would recognize the importance of attending the meeting and demonstrating unity.

“The opposition still fails to understand that this trial is against all of us and against every fallen soldier of Srpska, and that the future of this dysfunctional BiH is in the hands of the Court of BiH,” Ružičić concluded.
