Vučić: Emotions toward Srpska are unequivocal and clear

Serbia will continue its investments in Srpska at all levels, stated President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić after meetings at the Palace of the Republic, where he met with President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik.

  • “Emotions toward Srpska are unequivocal and clear. I am grateful for the warm hospitality and the wonderful ceremonies and events you have organized yesterday and today. Every word about the relationship between Srpska and Serbia is unnecessary because emotions say it all,” Vučić emphasized.

He pointed out that today’s discussions covered a wide range of projects across various sectors, from infrastructure to the joint construction of memorial complexes and the commemoration of shared historical dates of great significance for the Serb people.

Vučić stressed that Serbia will continue infrastructure projects, adding that it is crucial for Serbia that Bijeljina is well-connected to Belgrade, which will also benefit Brčko, Modriča, Šamac, Prnjavor, and Banja Luka.

  • “We will continue with infrastructure projects because it is important for everyone that you can travel from Bijeljina to Belgrade within an hour. We also discussed the Trebinje Airport. In Sarajevo, they see this as a political project, but for us, it is of great economic importance, primarily for Herzegovina, but also for Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and even Serbia,” Vučić emphasized.

Vučić expressed hope that there will be enough wisdom in Bosnia and Herzegovina to stop the legal persecution of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik.

  • “I do not wish to comment further on this matter, except to say that I hope there will be enough intelligence and wisdom,” Vučić added.

Memorial Complex Projects in Donja Gradina and Belgrade

This year, the construction of memorial complexes in Donja Gradina and Belgrade will commence.

  • “At the initiative of the President of Srpska, we hope to have significant guests for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Jasenovac because we must never forget what happened there. I have invited Israeli President Isaac Herzog to that event. Likewise, we will jointly commemorate 30 years of ‘Operation Storm,’ 30 years since the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement, as well as 30 years since Srebrenica,” Vučić added.

He mentioned that, on the occasion of Sretenje, Serbia’s Statehood Day, he received congratulatory messages from world leaders, including Donald Trump, Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin, Volodymyr Zelensky, and others, which, according to him, demonstrates that respect can be earned globally through independent and sovereign decision-making.

  • “Show me another country in the world that has managed to receive congratulations from all these leaders. This illustrates Serbia’s position and the level of respect it enjoys worldwide,” Vučić stated.
