Today, East Sarajevo will commemorate Russian Diplomats’ Day, honoring February 10, 1802, when the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was established.
The event will include a wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial dedicated to former Russian Ambassador to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, in East Sarajevo. The ceremony will be attended by Mayor Ljubiša Ćosić, Russian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Kalabukhov, and other delegations.
Russian Diplomats’ Day was officially established by a presidential decree on October 31, 2002, marking the 200th anniversary of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
