The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, believes that his trial before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina will not end with a verdict and that this process will determine the fate of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Dodik stated that this situation reflects the relations within BiH, where prosecutors and judges accept the imposition of laws by a foreigner, creating an ongoing see-sawing legal process.
“We believe this should not have come to this, but we will see how things develop. It is difficult for me to speak about this, but I think it will not only define my position but also the fate of Bosnia and Herzegovina itself,” Dodik said.
He recalled an old saying from the Ottoman occupation, “The judge accuses you, and the judge sentences you,” adding that this principle is now being reintroduced through the current judicial process.
Dodik also suggested that the prosecutors were clearly forced into this situation.
“It is obvious that there is an international conspiracy to carry this out and that they have initiated it for that reason. We will see how it ends. I don’t think it will end with a verdict; what happens after that will be more interesting,” Dodik added.
Meeting with the President of Serbia
The Presidents of Republika Srpska and Serbia, Milorad Dodik and Aleksandar Vučić, met today in Belgrade to discuss key issues for the Serb people and the future of Serbia and Srpska, as well as the celebration of Sretenje, which was designated in the Declaration of the All-Serb Assembly as a joint holiday of national unity and a shared vision for a better future.
Both presidents confirmed that their priority is to preserve peace and stability, continue and strengthen economic growth, and defend the national interests of Srpska and Serbia.
“Our discussions always focus on projects, on the roads we are building together, the Trebinje airport, Buk-Bijela… all the important matters that need continued attention. Serbia has been waiting on this for a long time; we could have built it long ago if there were no obstructions at the BiH level,” Dodik stated.
He also emphasized that they discussed the current political situation in Serbia.
“We also talked about the situation in Serbia itself, which is an unavoidable topic. President Vučić has done everything he can to establish dialogue and has invited all interested groups. Today, he invited the rectorate, yet we see that the academic community rejected the invitation. That is not a good message, considering the importance of dialogue. If academics are not the ones seeking truth through discussion, then it means they have already formed a predetermined stance,” Dodik concluded.
