A part of the international community aims to weaken Republika Srpska by undermining the institution of the president and disciplining those holding the most responsible positions, said the president of the Narodna Partija Srpske (NPS), Darko Banjac. He emphasized that the Court of BiH must understand that whatever verdict is given to Milorad Dodik will also be a verdict on this distorted BiH.
“What they fail to realize is that Milorad Dodik will never back down before them because he is defending the legitimately elected institutions of Republika Srpska and the people who elected him to this position,” Banjac stated.
He pointed out that the political trial against President Dodik is a project devised by a part of the international community with the intention of removing him from the political scene and dismantling the entire constitutional order and the Dayton Peace Agreement.
Banjac stressed that the fundamental principle behind their actions is to use legal force to dismantle the constitutional order and thereby centralize BiH.
“To achieve this, they need to remove Milorad Dodik and dismantle the Dayton Agreement, changing it through decisions of the illegitimate Constitutional Court of BiH and through the legal coercion of Christian Schmidt, which is accepted by political Sarajevo and certain individuals from Republika Srpska,” Banjac stated in a press release.
He emphasized that everyone must understand that this trial is against the president of Republika Srpska, who was fulfilling his constitutional duty, respecting the highest legislative body—the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.
“Dodik did nothing as an individual; he signed a law passed by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, which is his constitutional obligation,” Banjac asserted.
He described the trial as a deliberate farce aimed at dismantling the constitutional order of Republika Srpska as well as the state union of BiH.
The trial of President Dodik and the acting director of Službeni glasnik of Srpska, Miloš Lukić, continues today at the Court of BiH.
