The ninth annual exhibition of works by members of the Prijedor Association of Fine Artists was opened last night in the association’s premises. This year, the association is marking its 15th anniversary.
Andrea Krnetić-Grbić, a member of the association, stated that this is the first exhibition of the year for the Prijedor Association of Fine Artists, featuring works by 20 members, most of whom are exhibiting multiple pieces.
“The exhibition is particularly interesting due to its technical diversity; we have paintings, graphics, sculptures, and drawings,” said Krnetić-Grbić.
The exhibition was officially opened by Aleksandar Milješić, acting head of the Department for Culture, International Cooperation, Sports, and Non-Governmental Organizations of the City of Prijedor. He emphasized that the participation of around twenty artists and the large number of visitors once again confirm that Prijedor is a city of artists and painters.

“It is also a fact that the people of Prijedor highly value the work of our local artists, and the city of Prijedor takes great pride in their dedication and commitment to further developing and promoting Prijedor as a city of painters,” said Milješić.
He added that the association also has a significant responsibility to preserve the memory of past eras and the artists who emerged from this city, including Todor Švrakić, the first formally educated academic painter from the former Bosnia and Herzegovina, who was originally from Prijedor.
The premises of the Prijedor Association of Fine Artists, located in the Firefighter’s Hall, will host the exhibition until the end of February, allowing visitors to explore the displayed works.
