Jevtić: No one still wants to hear the Serb truth

In Doboj tonight, a book titled “Unbreakable Link” about the former Chief of General Staff of the Yugoslav Army, Colonel General Nebojša Pavković, authored by Miodrag Jevtić, was promoted. Jevtić emphasized that no one wants to hear the Serb truth.

The book traces General Pavković’s military career, offering a geopolitical perspective on the dissolution of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY), the formation and downfall of Yugoslavia, the conflict with NATO, and current events.

Retired Colonel Jevtić noted that during these critical moments, General Pavković held decisive command positions until the political upheavals in Serbia in 2002, when he was retired.

Shortly afterward, due to his refusal to cooperate with the Hague Tribunal, Pavković was sentenced to 22 years in prison, which he is serving in Finland.

Jevtić explained that the book’s title, “Unbreakable Link,” symbolizes Pavković’s character, describing him as someone who placed his military duty on the highest pedestal.

Detailing Pavković’s wartime role as commander of the Third Army of the Yugoslav Army, Jevtić recounted the battles and events in Kosovo and Metohija against the terrorist organization KLA, the attacks from Albania, and NATO’s relentless bombings. He lamented that the Serb perspective on these events remains unheard, both then and now.

  • “Had Rambouillet succeeded, there would have been no bombing of Serbia. If the bombing had succeeded, there would have been no October 5th. Yet, even after October 5th, the regime changed, but the people did not, and so we remain outside NATO and the EU,” Jevtić remarked.

According to Jevtić, Western pressure, aimed not at a political but a military victory and the fragmentation of the Serb people, continues through NATO’s activities, with its intensity influenced by the geopolitical outcomes in Ukraine.

Zoran Blagojević, president of the Doboj Association of Decorated Soldiers, attended the event and highlighted the importance of preserving the memory of commanders like Pavković. He noted that the Army of Republika Srpska also had officers of similar caliber.

Blagojević pointed to the challenges faced by Republika Srpska and Serbia in their confrontation with NATO, stating that these challenges are now evident in the geopolitical struggles in Ukraine, which Russia is currently facing.

The book “Unbreakable Link” was published by the Serb Cultural Center Ćirilica in Belgrade. Milorad Đošić, a representative of the center, noted that this historical subject matter is unfortunately not popular among publishers in Serbia.

The promotion was held at the Art Gallery of the Doboj Center for Culture and Education.
