The Mimosa Festival to be presented on sunday in Banja Luka

The Mimosa Festival, a popular entertainment and tourism event in the region, will be presented on Sunday, January 26, in Banja Luka.

“‘Herceg Novi Calls – Celebration, Sun, Sea’ is the slogan under which the 56th Mimosa Festival will take place. The most cheerful and one of the most popular tourist and entertainment events in the region, heralding the arrival of spring, is coming to Banja Luka. On Krajina Square on Sunday, January 26, from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM, a portion of this popular festival’s program, titled ‘The Celebration Begins,’ will be presented,” stated the tourist organizations of Banja Luka and Herceg Novi.

According to the announcement, the celebration will begin with a performance by 35 majorettes who will march from Petar Kočić Park through the pedestrian zone to Hotel Bosna, past the Cultural Center Banski Dvor and the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, then through the “park” in Gospodska Street toward Krajina Square, the event’s venue.

“At the square, the majorettes will be joined by ‘masqueraders’ and a performance by the Castel Nuovo Klapa, along with the famous costumed trombonieri, who will ceremonially announce the start of the event with a volley. As in previous years, the iconic mimosa flowers will be distributed to passersby at the square, along with promotional materials from the Herceg Novi Tourist Organization. The festival is organized by the Tourist Organization of Herceg Novi, the Cultural Center, and the Municipality of Herceg Novi, with warm hospitality provided by the Banja Luka Tourist Organization and the City Administration of Banja Luka,” the statement added.

The official opening of the Mimosa Festival is scheduled in Herceg Novi for Friday, February 14, marked by the traditional parade of majorettes, the City Music of Herceg Novi, the Local Music of Đenović, trombonieri, and members of the “Masqueraders” from Škver to Igalo. The opening will be followed by a concert featuring two divas of the regional music scene, Ana Bekuta and Hanka Paldum.
