Holidays in Trebinje Attract Tourists from Turkey and China

Trebinje welcomed between 7,000 and 8,000 tourists during the New Year holidays, with visitors primarily coming from Serbia, comprising 50% of the total. Groups from China and Turkey were also recorded, according to data from the city’s Tourist Organization.

Nikola Kokić, spokesperson for the Tourist Organization of Trebinje, told SRNA that the figures are based on available information from hoteliers and the platform “Booking.” He suggested the actual number could be even higher, as many visitors were in transit.

“What’s encouraging is that guests who visited Trebinje stayed for two to three nights. The visitor structure remains similar to previous years, with most tourists coming from Serbia, making up about 50%, followed by visitors from North Macedonia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Kokić said.

He also highlighted the significant interest from Montenegrin visitors, who sought accommodation in Trebinje despite attractive programs organized in their own areas.

“A noticeable number of foreign tourists visited as well, particularly small groups from Turkey and China,” Kokić added.

Record-breaking December and Yearly Statistics

Kokić revealed that Trebinje’s hotels recorded approximately 8,000 overnight stays in December.

“Looking at the figures for the entire 2024, they have already surpassed the record set in 2023,” he noted.

The Tourist Organization of Trebinje plans to release precise statistics once all registered private accommodations provide data from their facilities.
