AK Maraton members set three Republika Srpska records

Members of the Athletic Club Maraton from Brčko, Voislav Grubiša and Stefan Stanković, broke two indoor records of Republika Srpska at the Red Star New Year’s athletics meet in Belgrade, while their teammate Borislav Dragoljević set a record in Zagreb.

In the shot put competition, Grubiša achieved a throw of 18.97 meters, surpassing the previous record of 18.08 meters held by Aleksandar Novaković.

“I broke the record in the first round and achieved my best throw in the fourth. I missed matching my outdoor record by just three centimeters, but I believe I’ll reach that soon as the indoor season has just started, and this was the first competition. Breaking the previous record by 89 centimeters is a great result and motivation to keep pushing forward. My teammates also delivered outstanding performances, and I hope we will continue breaking records together. We’ll have another chance on February 21 at the Republika Srpska Indoor Championship in Belgrade,” said Grubiša.

Stanković achieved a triple jump result of 13.74 meters, surpassing his previous best of 13.46 meters.

Additionally, Dragoljević ran 400 meters under 50 seconds for the first time, setting a new Republika Srpska record at 49.74 seconds, beating the previous record of 50.20.

In Zagreb, Dejan Grabovica also broke the 200-meter record, but as this is not an official discipline, it will not be recognized.
