Representatives of the company “Alumina” from Zvornik and the Brown Coal Mine (RMU) Banovići signed a business cooperation agreement for 2025, worth approximately 40 million BAM, as announced today by the company “Alumina.”
According to the contract, signed by the directors of “Alumina,” Zoran Stevanović, and the Mine, Rasim Dostović, the Banovići mine will deliver around 200,000 tons of coal during 2025 to meet the operational needs of the Zvornik factory.
Stevanović emphasized after the signing that this is a significant contract, ensuring stable coal supply, which is a crucial resource for the production process and achieving the company’s goals for 2025.
“In these times of energy instability, a serious company like Alumina must assess its annual energy needs and secure resources for the entire upcoming year already in December,” Stevanović stated.
He added that after negotiations with representatives of RMU Banovići, a compromise was reached, and the contract covers the factory’s entire coal requirements for 2025.
Stevanović also noted that Alumina is working intensively to secure other energy sources necessary for the factory’s operations in the coming year.
“We will sign annual contracts for gas and electricity supply with Gas-Res from Banja Luka, Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske, and Elektro-Bijeljina, ensuring stable supply and fixed prices even in the event of market turbulence,” said Stevanović.
Dostović highlighted that the signed contract reflects the strong business relationship between the two companies.
“We are continuously enhancing our cooperation with Alumina, and this factory remains a priority for our mine’s industrial coal supply,” said Dostović.
He further noted that Alumina is a critical partner for the Banovići mine as one of its largest coal buyers.
“After Elektroprivreda BiH, Alumina is our biggest coal customer. We hope to continue this successful partnership, which is vital for the overall development of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s industry,” Dostović emphasized.
Alumina and RMU Banovići have been collaborating since late 2012. Over the past 12 years, RMU Banovići has delivered more than 1.9 million tons of coal to Alumina.
