Trivunović at a crossroads

The head coach of Rudar Prijedor, Vule Trivunović, warned that the team faces an uncertain future due to significant debts owed to players and staff. He stated for Glas Srpske that unless the financial situation drastically improves, the team’s prospects for the second half of the season are in jeopardy.

After the first part of the season, Rudar Prijedor sits in second place, just three points behind autumn champions Laktaši, with a realistic chance to compete for the title. However, given the current circumstances, that goal may slip away.

  • The situation in the club is quite unstable, the debts are substantial, and unless the current problems are resolved, it’s questionable what will happen in the second part of the season – Trivunović emphasized.

This young coach, along with his staff, built a competitive team over the summer that delivered outstanding performances.

  • We managed to bring in players who fit the team and could raise our level of play. We had excellent preparations, but we faced unexpected challenges at the start of the season, playing away matches in the first four rounds. Despite that, we performed excellently, playing 10 away matches and only seven at home. Among those away games, we visited East Sarajevo three times, traveled twice to Trebinje (playing only one match there), and played in Zvornik, Foča, and against the leaders, Laktaši. We did everything to enhance the reputation of Prijedor and the club, and I can responsibly say that our second-place finish after 17 rounds was well-earned – said Trivunović.

The efforts of the coaching staff and players have seemingly been recognized only by the club’s fans.

  • They supported us both at home and away, showing how much they care about seeing Rudar Prijedor return to the Premier League. Spring should have been easier for us, but the situation is very bad. I believe we’ve shown during the first part of the season that we deserve more attention from the city of Prijedor, as well as from other political and economic entities. The current state is unsustainable, and it’s unclear whether or when preparations for the second part of the season will even begin. If nothing changes, I will certainly leave the club, along with seven or eight key players who proved their quality and readiness for the Premier League – Trivunović added.

Preparations
It is still unknown when preparations for the second part of the season will begin, but realistically, if everything is resolved, they could start in mid-January. In recent winters, Rudar Prijedor has often conducted part of their preparations in Medulin, where they regularly participated in tournaments.

  • Everything is uncertain at the moment. Still, I hope that things will drastically improve by then, allowing us to continue our fight for a place in the BiH Premier League – concluded Trivunović.
