The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management of Republika Srpska will issue a public call for the purchase of Belarus tractors in the next two days, with a subsidy of up to 60% of the necessary funds available to our farmers, announced Goran Bursać, Assistant Minister for Agriculture of Republika Srpska.
Agricultural producers interested in purchasing the tractors will contribute 40% of the funds, while the remaining 60% will be covered by the Ministry, said Bursać during our Morning Program.
“The tractors from Belarus were part of an agreement between the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik and the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. Today, we can say that this agreement has been realized,” stated Bursać.
Bursać explained that, following the public call, all interested agricultural producers under the age of 40 should complete a simple form and submit a price estimate.
“The Ministry will then compile a ranking list, and the farmers will have 10 days to pay their portion of the cost. Within another 10 days, the tractors will be delivered and ready in the yards of our hosts,” emphasized Bursać.
He noted that these are high-quality machines already familiar to our farmers.
Petar Nikolić, founder of the Young Agro-Entrepreneurs Network in Republika Srpska, said the subsidized purchase of Belarus tractors is exclusively for those under 40, with around 200 tractors available.
“The Young Producers Network strives to connect agriculture and rural life with family. This time, in the scoring system, household size will also be considered, giving preference to families with three or more children and those who have not previously benefited from Ministry programs in the last 10 years,” said Nikolić.
Nikolić pointed out that many families in Republika Srpska cannot afford to buy a tractor.
“At the recent Youth in Agriculture Conference in Republika Srpska held in Obudovac, and at the Interagro Fair in Bijeljina, we showcased the available models. This initiative allows young farm owners who have never owned a tractor to take their first new tractor to their fields,” Nikolić added.
