From the outset, it’s clear that politics are behind the trial of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik and acting director of the Srpska Official Gazette, Miloš Lukić. Even those who initiated the process, including Christian Schmidt, have not hidden this fact, stated legal expert Ognjen Tadić on our television’s morning program.
Tadić noted that the situation reflects a regression to the Middle Ages concerning human and political rights.
“Reactions from political circles in Sarajevo are no surprise. With their political platform practically invisible in Bosnia and Herzegovina, they are now openly attaching themselves to this issue, competing to see who is more responsible for the trial against Dodik and Lukić. In any normal country, such actions would lead to a serious investigation into how these people influenced the process, and the proceedings would have to be halted and annulled. However, in Bosnia, this will continue to captivate public attention and serve the political goals of obstructing Srpska from exercising its constitutional functions,” emphasized Tadić.
Tadić further noted that the primary political goal of the international community and Bosniak political scene is to establish Schmidt as High Representative, despite his lack of UN Security Council approval.
“The secondary goal is to strip Srpska and the Federation of BiH of their assets, ostensibly transferring them to a virtual BiH level where foreign arbiters could allocate them as they see fit. This impacts all of our lives,” Tadić warned.
Tadić added that, by disregarding the Dayton Peace Agreement, Bosniak politicians are undermining the very foundation on which they stand.
“They want to turn Srpska into an empty shell with nothing but a name,” said Tadić.
Addressing Schmidt’s report to the UN, Tadić stressed that Schmidt long ago lost his sense of justice.
“His idea of presenting himself as an unofficial representative to the highest global body, without any shame, speaks volumes about his lack of accountability for his actions,” Tadić concluded.
