Until Friday, November 1, the “School of Archaeology – Kastel 2024” will take place at the Kastel fortress in Banja Luka, organized in collaboration with the Museum of Republika Srpska, the Archaeological Society of Republika Srpska, the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Banja Luka, and the University of East Sarajevo.
Supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska and the City of Banja Luka, this project offers a unique opportunity for everyone interested to participate in archaeological research and learn more about discoveries right in the heart of the city.
Excavations will take place daily from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., where visitors can watch archaeologists at work, explore their methods, and gain insight into the importance of cultural heritage preservation.
In addition to fieldwork, evening lectures by experts in archaeology and museology will be held at the Museum of Republika Srpska at 7:00 p.m., open to the public.
This is a chance for history and archaeology enthusiasts to see Kastel from a fresh perspective, learn about research processes, and uncover valuable information about Banja Luka’s cultural heritage.
