The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, emphasized in his discussion with the newly appointed head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Luigi Soreca, that Srpska supports Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path, where it wishes to be visible in accordance with the coordination mechanism and with full respect for its constitutional position and the Dayton structure of BiH.
Dodik stressed that Republika Srpska will not allow the stripping of its constitutional powers, nor the imposition of laws and solutions by unelected foreign officials, according to a statement from the president’s office.
During the conversation, Dodik expressed the full commitment of Srpska’s institutions to dialogue and underlined that domestic institutions and elected political representatives in BiH must be the only relevant authorities for decision-making.
At the meeting held at the Palace of the Republic, which was also attended by the Serb member of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, discussions covered the current political situation in Srpska and BiH, as well as the process of European integration.
Dodik welcomed Soreca to Republika Srpska and wished him a successful mandate.
