Kojić: OHR supports its own presence and that of foreign judges

Milorad Kojić, an MP from the SNSD in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated that the OHR supports its own presence and that of foreign judges by welcoming the decision of SDS delegate in the House of Peoples, Želimir Nešković, to withdraw the proposed law on the Constitutional Court of BiH from parliamentary procedure.

Kojić noted that the OHR, by greeting Nešković’s decision to withdraw the law proposal, essentially supports its presence in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the presence of foreign judges in the Constitutional Court of BiH as an important step towards negotiations with the EU.

According to him, this is a maneuver that seeks in every way to undermine the Dayton Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The OHR and the unnamed Christian Schmidt persistently demonstrate that BiH is a country of absurdities. It is clear to everyone that a country lacking full sovereignty cannot be a full member and thus cannot negotiate with the EU,” stated Kojić.

He emphasized that this represents a complete reversal of theses, as the first step in negotiations with the EU is to achieve full sovereignty, which can only be accomplished by fully respecting the provisions of the Constitution.

Regarding foreign judges in the Constitutional Court, Kojić mentioned that this means that after five years, a different selection will occur, and the country will have exclusively domestic judges, leading to the complete closure of the OHR in BiH.

“Then the country has full sovereignty. Respecting constitutional competences concerning the Constitution of Republika Srpska, the Constitution of the Federation of BiH, and the Constitution of BiH is progress. Everything the Constitutional Court does, and the OHR tries to present in public through the distortion of theses, is precisely the loss of sovereignty, unconstitutional actions, and violations of all constitutions,” pointed out Kojić.

He believes that they claim that violating those constitutions is a good step towards the EU, stressing that there is no European country that can achieve positive effects from the EU while violating its own regulations.

“The fact is that the leadership of Republika Srpska is solely focused on preserving the constitutional competences guaranteed by the Constitution of Republika Srpska, and any unconstitutional action is essentially the destruction of BiH,” concluded Kojić.

The OHR welcomed the decision of SDS delegate in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Želimir Nešković, to withdraw his proposed law on the Constitutional Court of BiH from parliamentary procedure.

Schmidt stated that the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH should now intensify its work by focusing on issues of immediate importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s efforts to begin negotiations with the EU, noting that this is a positive step towards improving the functionality of the country.
